I am fiery & gentle; bold & thoughtful; creative & grounded; autonomous & collaborative; determined & rested; a peacemaker & advocate; modern & filled with ancestral wisdom; discerning & spontaneous; adventurous & strategic; an observer & critical thinker.

We all have access to effective communication, but it is my life’s work to hone this privilege—from my earliest memories journaling with my mother to a milestone Master of Arts in English from Oklahoma State University.

I join the work of my ancestors: Mary Jane Little Perry, E.W. Perry, Peter and Martha Holloway, Gladys Perry, C.L. Stove, Flordia Palmer, Sonny Hawkeye, Marthann, James and Elnora Boykin, and many others. Their lives taught me the ways of healing forwards and backwards through storytelling, truth telling, singing, advocacy, home cooking, and communal love.
